InSeT Systems: Saving miner's lives with technology
Mesh Network

Network Access Point with XP Blast Shield

The InSeT Mesh Network Access Point (MNAP) provides fixed-point 900MHz network access coverage for the overall system. The MNAP is installed easily with standard roof bolt machinery and does not require precise location to meet its intended mission of providing the backbone communication link for the network.

To give the best chance of remaining operational following an underground explosion, the MNAPs are housed in a revolutionary blast shield design. In addition to meeting MSHA’s XP requirements, the XP Blast Shield is designed to provide additional protection from flying debris and deflects the shock wave from the explosion. The unique hyperbolic shape of the Lexan® dome also minimizes the possibility of the unit being ripped off its mounting surface during an explosion. The ability of a system to sustain continued operations following an underground event is critical to any successful rescue operation.
