Wherever there is an InSeT System installed…
There is hope!
When survivability counts...
...protect your critical communication and networking equipment in adverse environments with the InSeT Systems XP Blast Shield. Whether it’s the harsh, potentially
explosive environment of an underground coal mine or a manufacturing facility, protection and survivability of your communication and networking equipment is crucial to
normal operations and in post accident rescue situations.
InSeT’s revolutionary Blast Shield has been designed and approved to meet the Mine Safety and Health Administrations (MSHA) stringent Explosion Proof (XP) requirements, and also provides RF transparency, allowing antennas to be mounted within the enclosure.
In addition to meeting MSHA’s XP requirements, the XP Blast Shield is designed to provide additional protection from flying debris and deflects the shock wave from the explosion. The unique hyperbolic shape of the Lexan® dome also minimizes the possibility of the unit being ripped off its mounting surface during an explosion.
With 707 cu. inches of space available, the unit can house a wide variety of electronics. Engineering support is available to work with customers on the fit and layout of their particular system.

InSeT Systems LLC is the developer of the patented Inertial Sensor Tracking system that dramatically aids rescue efforts in mines. The InSeT System uses miniature inertial sensors, proprietary software, and a wireless mesh radio network to display and record the real-time location of miners working underground. The InSeT System provides unprecedented tracking accuracy – tracking miners within a matter of a few feet – thereby enabling rapid, highly targeted rescue efforts when mining disasters occur.
Our initial focus is the underground coal mines in the USA covered by the MINER Act of 2006, then other underground mines in both the USA and internationally.
Once this goal is achieved, we will redirect our efforts to providing an effective and accurate location system for use anywhere a constant GPS signal is not available; tunnels, shopping malls, urban canyons, in buildings, etc.

"Our goal is to greatly improve the chances that underground miners can go home to their families every day when their work is done."
